Acumen Pharmaceutical (Pvt) Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), and Feminine Healthcare FHC360 through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the “Saving Critical Mothers in Sindh” initiative.
The collaboration aims to design, implement, and expand a comprehensive Critical Care Training Program for Obstetricians and Gynaecologists across Sindh, with a focus on improving maternal health outcomes and reducing preventable maternal deaths.
The program will focus on the early recognition and management of life-threatening obstetric emergencies, including:
- Postpartum haemorrhage
- Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia
- Maternal sepsis
- Obstetric intensive care management
As part of the initiative, the partners aim to:
- Train more than 200 OBGYN residents, medical officers, and consultants during the first year.
- Standardize evidence-based management protocols across public hospitals in Sindh.
- Establish a sustainable train-the-trainer model within JPMC and JSMU.
- Develop a data registry to monitor maternal health outcomes before and after implementation.
Acumen Pharmaceutical will support the program through unrestricted educational grants, training logistics, simulation equipment, participant materials, and access to international faculty and speakers. Academic leadership, curriculum development, faculty selection, accreditation, and participant recruitment will be managed by JPMC, JSMU, and FHC360 to ensure academic independence and quality.
The intensive training program will include classroom instruction, simulation-based learning, mentorship, and hands-on clinical exposure in critical care and obstetric emergency management. Participants will receive joint certification from JPMC/JSMU, FHC360, and Acumen Academy, with CME accreditation being pursued.
Signed on 17 May 2026, the agreement represents a significant step toward strengthening maternal healthcare capacity in Sindh and fostering collaboration between academia, healthcare institutions, and industry partners for improved patient outcomes.
